MEXICO FIRE TRAINING PROJECT UNDERWAY

PARTNERSHIP WITH DURANGO FIRE CONTINUES

(22 March 2015) Arriving in the heart of Mexico yeasterday, instructors from Global Mission Readiness are in the city of Durango for what will be three full days of intense fire training. Veterans of many emergency services development projects abroad, GMR volunteers Burke Slater and Patrick De Lair will teach new techniques in handling fire hose, fireground tactics and safety & survival. Rich in tradition, honor and discipline, the Durango Bomberos serve a population of nearly a half million residents, despite limited means. GMR instructors have assisted over the past year, partnering with Durango to bring not only necessary training, but also tools, equipment and protective clothing donated from fire departments from the U.S. Any donations of firefighting equipment or funds are still being accepted to help with this, and future training projects. For financial donations, please click on the tab here. To inquire about equipment you would like to donate, please click here. Wishing our team members a safe and successful mission - We'll post pics as they become available. Thank you!
